Day N Nite with Jori Hulkkonen

Sure, everyone (and I mean EVERYONE; from the dancing queens at Tigerheat to the disco cholas at QC's in Montebello) gets kajagoogoo over the Crooker's Remix of Kid Cudi's "Day N Nite". It is so popular that, by default, has because the better known version compared to its original version.
Then comes Jori Hulkkonen. His song "Lo-Fiction" will be forever implanted in my mind since it transports me to the summer of 2005. Now that you thought you had enought of this fucking track, he injects a flare of maturity to this already overplayed song. It's perfect for any house set.

But don't take my word for it. Have yourself a listen:

Suburban Kids with Biblical Names in 2009 produce their music with chaotic playfulness. Each song goes through a large number of completely different versions and re-makes, perhaps ranging from slow country to uptempo afro pop, before the band is pleased and the song is finished. It’s definitely not a time efficient way of working. But, it does seem to make wonders for the final result.

Out February 4.
